The E-Ray has been accidentally revealed on Chevrolet's website, where a visualizer went live way too early. MidEngineCorvetteForum member stumbled upon the 2024MY while playing with the configurator. It's important to note right off the bat that there are no specs available, but the quad exhausts confirm it's a hybrid.
On most screenshots, you can see Chevy intends to sell the car next summer in the bottom-right corner. An official unveiling could take place in the spring of 2023, perhaps in the first months.
It will debut with three new paints: Cacti, Riptide Blue Metallic, and Sea-Wolf Gray Tri-Coat. There is already a striking green shade on the Trax, adding credibility to this massive leak.
The 2024 E-Ray is very much real, so it's safe to assume this isn't an elaborate fake. It looks like the holidays came early for a few astute Corvette fans. Stay tuned for more."
Needless to say, the visualizer has already been taken down, but not before quick thinkers snapped screenshots. The Z06 has wider hips, but everything is painted the same color as the body.
With the exception of the flat-plane LT6, all the goodies from the Z06 have been carried over to the E-Ray. Other than the centrally mounted exhaust tips, it's pretty similar to the spicy version. It won't be a plug-in hybrid since it lacks a charging port.
Regenerative braking appears to be controlled by a button mounted on the left side of the center console. It stores energy that would otherwise be lost while braking in hybrids and electric vehicles. It is a start/stop button to improve the efficiency of the naturally aspirated LT2 engine.
According to reports, the 2024 Corvette E-Ray will have all-wheel drive, with an electric motor at the front and a V8 at the rear. As a replacement for the Grand Sport, it will be followed later this decade by a purely electric version.
